This project is dedicated to transforming the 916iS aviation engine from gasoline to a fully hydrogen-powered system. BOSCH is passionate to find CO2 neutral options for sustainable General Aviation flight operations. The innovation project will focus on the design and implementation of a fuel injection system, engines control and sensor set, followed by performance testing on a test bench. By utilizing the BOSCH knowledge and experience, Bosch will demonstrate the engine's capabilities in hydrogen operation and gather essential performance and operation data for comparison with the original engine variant. We will analyze the outcomes to explore hydrogen's potential in sustainable aviation.
