Friedrichshafen, Germany – 22 April 2026: A new global industry association, Technology · Aviation · Business (TAB), has launched today at AERO Friedrichshafen, bringing together aviation technology companies to help shape standards for the next generation of digital aviation systems.

Formed by 30 aviation software and technology companies, including FL3XX, SkAI Tech, GlobeAir, Aviowiki, and Axturis, the association allows industry leaders to work closer together as aviation technology becomes increasingly central to day-to-day operations.

TAB will provide a platform for technology providers to share insight on regulatory developments and operational requirements that often differ between regions. By bringing companies together in a single forum, the association aims to improve coordination between technology companies and the aviation businesses that rely on their systems.

Paolo Sommariva, founding member of TAB and chairman of FL3XX, says: “Aviation technology companies often face the same challenges but work in isolation. We all build solutions for the same industry, yet there has never been a dedicated forum for the technology community itself to exchange knowledge and align on how systems should evolve. TAB gives us that space.”

A key priority for the association will be the development of shared digital standards that allow aviation platforms to integrate more easily.

Sommariva adds: “Many aviation systems were built in a different technological era and were never designed to connect easily with each other. As the industry moves towards greater automation and more intelligent systems, clear technical standards will be essential for these technologies to work together safely and effectively.”

Nicolas Saudreau, CEO and Co-Founder of SkAI Tech, says: "At SkAI Tech, we’ve always believed that technology reaches its full potential when it’s seamlessly integrated, a vision TAB is putting into practice through a commitment to universal standards and API connectivity, collaboration with the industry’s leading tech players, and a global strategy for a more integrated aviation ecosystem."

TAB is hosting a launch reception at 15:30 on Thursday, 23 April, at the Business Aviation Dome Stage, AERO Friedrichshafen, for industry attendees to mark the association’s introduction to the global aviation community. TAB’s members will be exhibiting at the TAB Pavilion in Hall A1, Booth 418.
