After his doctorate at Cranfield University (United Kingdom), Mattia was a researcher at Cranfield and at NASA (Glenn Research Center) in the field of aircraft design.
He joined Airbus in 2011, where he worked particularly on aircraft performance, before contributing to the group’s digital transformation program, notably as head of the innovation team.
He joined Aura in 2021 as Chief Technical Officer to develop the Experimental Design Office, which brings together preliminary design and advanced systems, and which was notably responsible for the design of the propulsion system of the Integral Electric and for the preliminary design of the ERA aircraft.
Since 2023, Mattia has also been Chief Engineer of the ERA Program.
